Nate Morton is a drummer's drummer - his pocket has propelled records for artists as varied as Michael Bolton, Kelis and Damian Marley, and he has toured the world backing Natalie Cole, Chaka Khan, Miley Cyrus, Poe, Vanessa Carlton and Paul Stanley and played high-visiblity award shows like both the latin and traditional Grammy Awards, where he appeared alongside the likes of Madonna.

He is the most visible for filling the drum chair in some of the most compelling musical performance television shows of the last twenty years - starting with Rockstar:INXS, Rockstar:Supernova and Rock The Cradle and continuing on to every one of the 400 (!!) episodes of the hit NBC show 'The Voice', which continues to draw millions of fans every week.

"This band started because I got tired of not having an answer when interviewers asked 'hey Nate, what music do you do on your own time?'

Sean and I have a really deep musical connection that comes from ingesting a similar huge pile of recorded music when we were coming up, and from fifteen years of friendship. It really shows on the new record - even when it jumps from a sax tune with brushes to a country barn-burner, it still sounds like us. After spending years in the studio, 'poptosis' is my favorite collection of my own playing - and that's gratifying!.

ABOUT THE DUDES

A rare chameleon in all things audio, Sean Halley has appeared on record with Vinnie Colaitua, Tony Levin, Jerry Marotta, Michael Thompson, Richard Marx and Michael Manring among many others. Over the past thirty years he has written orchestral music for film and television, been a busy session musician, produced and engineered successful  independent records, built facilities and recording gear, created the popular Bachelor program and Production and Recording department at LA College of Music and created media that has been viewed over a million times for multiple music manufacturing companies - all while remaining a respected presenter on all things audio.

"This band has been something that Nate and I have talked about doing for years - removing the need to fit the music into clearly defined little boxes means that we're free to explore whatever we feel comfortable playing.

There was a real sense of joy and fun when we put these tunes together (we DID start it out by drinking to a click, after all!), and I truly hope that it comes across when listening to 'poptosis'. We've had a blast making it, and we can't wait to take it out into the world and play it!"
